Tenure track position for Computational Biomedical Scientist at Universidad de Chile

The Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the School of Medicine of the University of Chile has an opening for a tenure track position for a Computational Scientist interested to work in Biomedical research. The position will be affiliated to the Program of Human Genetics of the Institute and is expected to collaborate with faculty in different fields such genetics, genomics and medical informatics.

Responsibilities associated with the position
Developing an independent research line with international-level productivity. Obtaining external funding for research projects. Participation and organization of undergraduate and graduate courses in physics, mathematics, computer science, o bioinformatics for students of biomedical sciences. Supervising undergraduate and graduate theses projects. Designing and directing research projects and publishing scientific papers in journals of international prestige.

Requirements for the applicant

Strong Quantitative Background
Degree in Engineering or Exact Sciences
Doctor degree in a field of Engineering, Exact Sciences, B​iology, or Biomedicine
Postdoctoral experience preferred
Proficiency in Spanish and English
Publication track in scientific journals (ISI)
Experience in teaching undergraduate or graduate courses
Income
According to the Medical School’s scale and to hierarchy obtained by curriculum evaluation (Assistant or Associate). The ICBM encourages applying to the National Call to Support Return of Researchers from abroad. (Deadline: August 19, 2013).
